Full-day, facilitator-led Robyn and Molly simulation training for police officers and staff, focusing on child sexual exploitation and trauma-informed investigative practice. Suitable for groups of up to 20 participants. £2,100 per training day, plus travel and accommodation costs where applicable. Advance arrangements and booking authorisation are required.

Detailed Description

Robyn and Molly is a full-day, simulation-based training programme developed collaboratively by the University of Kent's Centre for Child Protection and Kent Police, with support from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

The training focuses on child sexual exploitation (CSE), supporting police officers and staff to develop and apply trauma-informed, child-centred approaches throughout their interactions with children and young people and the investigative process.

Through an immersive serious-game simulation, participants explore realistic scenarios, reflect on professional decision-making and consider how trauma can influence children's experiences, behaviours and engagement with professionals.

The programme is suitable for both frontline and investigating officers, with learning and facilitated discussions tailored to the roles and responsibilities of the participating group.

Important booking information – please read before purchasing

All training arrangements must be agreed with the Centre for Child Protection before a purchase is made.

Please contact ccp@kent.ac.uk before booking to discuss your requirements and confirm training dates, availability, participant numbers, venue arrangements and any additional travel or accommodation costs.

Once the details have been agreed, the Centre will provide a password enabling you to complete your booking through the University of Kent Online Store.

Please note:

Advance agreement is required. Purchasing training without first confirming arrangements with the Centre for Child Protection is not permitted. Access to the booking process is password-protected.

One purchase covers one full-day training session for a maximum of 20 participants. The £2,100 fee is charged per session, not per participant.

Multiple training days: If you wish to book two or more sessions, please agree the arrangements with the Centre in advance. A separate purchase of £2,100 is required for each training day. For example, two full-day sessions would cost £4,200, plus any applicable travel and accommodation costs.

Additional costs: Travel and accommodation expenses, where required, are not included in the £2,100 training fee. These will be discussed and agreed before booking, including how they will be charged.

Technical requirements: The commissioning organisation must provide a suitable venue, internet access, presentation facilities and access to laptops or computers for participants. Pre-training technical access checks will be arranged to ensure that the simulation can be accessed using the organisation's IT systems.

Simulation access: This purchase covers facilitated training delivery only. It does not include a separate simulation licence, ongoing access to the simulation or Train-the-Trainer accreditation.

Cancellations and rescheduling:

Every effort will be made by both the Centre for Child Protection and the commissioning organisation to honour agreed training arrangements and avoid cancellations. However, we recognise that emergencies, operational demands or other unforeseen circumstances may occasionally arise. Should either party need to cancel or postpone an agreed training session, we ask that they notify the other as soon as possible. Wherever possible, we will work collaboratively to arrange a mutually convenient alternative date, with the original training fee transferred to the rescheduled session. Where the commissioning organisation requests a cancellation or postponement after travel or accommodation arrangements have been made, any reasonable, non-refundable expenses already incurred may remain payable. These will be discussed transparently with the commissioning organisation. If the Centre for Child Protection is unable to deliver the training and a mutually convenient alternative date cannot be agreed, a full refund of the training fee will be arranged.
