Course Description

This module will provide you with the core skills required to deliver Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response (EPRR) arrangements in healthcare settings. Through structured online delivery, you will learn key principles and processes used by health commanders, managers and staff responding to incidents as part of an incident management team including risk assessment, emergency planning, training, exercising, command and control, coordination and communication, joint decision making, debriefing, and record keeping. The alignment of these principles will be brought to life with examples of current best practice and case studies. You will apply your knowledge and your practical understanding through a series of live events, implementing your skills at a professional level in the development and delivery of EPRR arrangements in healthcare settings.
You will benefit from the expertise of practicing NHS EPRR staff as well as members of staff at the University of Kent. The course is aligned to the Skills for Justice National Occupational Standards as well as the NHS England EPRR Minimum Occupational Standards and has been co-designed with NHS staff working in EPRR roles. Following completion of the course, there is an option to top up to a PG Cert with additional credit at an additional cost.
