A day visit is to the City and historic University of Oxford by coach from Canterbury Campus. The University, one of Europe's oldest, has fine buildings dating back to the 1200s. Some of them were used in the making of the Harry Potter films! The trip is arranged and led by the University Chaplaincy, and all students are welcome to come.
Oxford is renowned for its ancient colleges, churches and libraries, and is a 'must see' for visitors to the UK.
There are world-class museums, including the Ashmolean Museum (art and sculpture of all periods) and the Pitt Rivers Museum (anthropology and cultural artefacts from around the world. If you like shopping you will enjoy Oxford's shopping malls and the famous 'Covered Market'.
Everyone will be provided with a map; and will have the opportunity of joining an orientation tour. We leave Canterbury Campus at 8.45am on Sat 11 Feb, returning at approx 7pm. Details of departure points; and timings in Oxford will be provided to ticket-buyers.
